Target's Q3 earnings show substantial digital sales growth - Business Insider

of the retailer's online sales were fulfilled in-store in Q3. Since most Target stores are located within suburban areas, the retailer might've been able to use its stores to fulfill and deliver orders faster than retailers that delivered from warehouses, which tend to be fewer and farther away from neighborhoods.

Although this has the potential to drive up digital sales for Target, the retailer will need to ensure that its fulfillment services—especially its curbside pickup and same-day delivery offerings—can efficiently manage the uptick. It'll also need to make sure that protocols and systems are in place for employees to prevent further spread of the virus.
