I started my new role as LinkedIn's CEO during the pandemic. Here's what I learned from my first 6 months on the job.

As the pandemic stretches on, mental well-being is of the utmost importance. Each person is experiencing this situation differently, so we've made efforts to ensure our employees have the resources they need to cope with stress and support loved ones and those in their community.

We recently implemented no meeting days, a seemingly small adjustment that has had a big impact for our employees. We're also more mindful of meeting length and how the time is used. Think 25 or 50 minute meetings rather than 30 or 60 minutes to give people mini-breaks throughout the day. Walking 1:1s on the phone are also a great way to get fresh air while catching up with teammates.

I've been juggling this in my own home, where our three daughters have been doing distance learning for the last 9 months. Our schedules have changed and we've had to be flexible throughout the day to help with online school, make lunch, and create space for the everyday needs that come up.

good luck

LinkedIn has become a spammer site. I get 5 connect requests a day, all sales people spamming me. Until they fix that, I am staying off. It was supposed to be a professional networking site, not a spam magnet.
