MDEC vice-president for tech ecosystems and globalisation, Gopi Ganesalingam, said in a statement that the programme had helped tech companies and startups connect with other partners in the South-East Asian ecosystem to drive new businesses in technologies.
He added that the programme would help local tech companies expand their market access and export opportunities to other countries within the region. “The enhanced GAIN Connex programme continues the facilitation of knowledge-sharing and collaboration among South-East Asian peers, but through the focus of cross-functional topics,” Gopi noted.
GAIN Connex 2021 is a continuation of the previous GAIN Connex programmes held from 2017 to 2020, with a new focus on cross-functional topics that cut across the tech ecosystem. Meanwhile, Gopi said the programme for this year would focus on an exclusive plenary session with IDC analysts on the region’s market trends and opportunities. These include enterprise resource planning systems, database management, real-time collaboration tools, augmented reality and other productivity tools.
