The government's new cost of living tsar says he wants 'old friends and colleagues... to help the British people'.

He said his three measures of success would be making real practical interventions to get food shops, utilities and leisure businesses to cut costs.

The latest tsar - Mr Buttress - is a proud Welshman. He is chairman of Dragons rugby union club in Newport, and a prominent supporter of Welsh independence. Asked if he stood by these views he said: "You have to bear in mind I had never met any of the team in No 10, least of all obviously the prime minister.""There's a really important job to do here - I think it says everything about this government and the prime minister that actually they're putting someone like me in place, who really cares about it, who wants to make a big impact in this area.

"All of us are in it together, which is why I want my old colleagues in business and industry to come to the party in the next six months and help." Is that so the Government does do have to. Typical, Government passes the buck!

“ Government cronies who benefit off corporate greed ask greedy corporations to not be so greedy.” There. Changed it for you.

No, Government caused this by locking the economy down for nearly 2 years, it is THEY who must rectify their mistake davidjusteat not businesses.

Why should they? The Government have wasted Billions it’s their job

So the greedy, profiteering corporations behind the cost of living crisis are being asked to be less greedy - by corrupt, self-serving politicians who routinely and gladly accept financial bribes from the greedy, profiteering corporations behind the cost of living crisis? Okay..

First advise to workers, join a strong Union.

Don't think that will happen, they are making their christmas. Recovering their lost during these 2 years. They don't really care about customers...

Right man for the job then. Let me guess. Another rich boy giving advice. Totally understands most companies have dug deep to keep going and keep peoples jobs for the last two years or so. Many small companies now with huge debts.

No more increasing profits year on year. Dont allow companies to put prices up if they had profits last year.

His role is unpaid so he can say whatever crap he likes. I wait to see the day that a company voluntarily cuts its profits margins (not talking about the sales here), on a sustained basis,to ease a cost of living crisis that is caused/aggravated by the government itself.

FFS.

You mean like those that can work from home to cut transport and child care costs? Not sure the government is onboard with such a revolutionary idea!

給料にインフレスライドがないのがそもそもの原因だよね😃

mark2!

What about the devaluing of their currency. Wouldn't it be wiser just to stop the devaluing of the currency. You know the real problem with your currency does for you. The Fiat money system is a Ponzi scheme.

It's the government responsible to the peoples Not Companies... The only poor and fail government will do so.

Well, I'm glad the government hired an expert to come up with these innovative solutions.

Because our governments aren’t going to do anything about it…except blame others. That’s what true leaders do.

Nope, that's the governments job. Companies are there to make 💸.

Jajajajajaja

Sure that’s going to work
