The Phoenix developer recently proposed plans for two industrial projects across the west side of the Phoenix metro.

, which includes the development of new groundwater wells, three miles of water transmission lines, a 20-acre water treatment campus and 15 miles of potable water distribution piping to support construction of industrial, residential and commercial projects in the area.

The developer has submitted an application to the city for a change to Buckeye's general plan, which guides the city's growth, and to rezone the site from residential to light industrial. Buckeye's planning commission is scheduled to vote on a recommendation for the project on Tuesday. Project documents say the Atlas facility's service and storage areas will be oriented inward and fully screened from adjacent streets since the development is located within a quarter-mile of a planned residential subdivision. The developer has also promised to limit truck traffic to nonresidential streets to decrease the impacts to the area, documents said. The architect is listed as Phoenix-based Cawley Architects and the engineer is Scottsdale-based Sustainability Engineering Group.
