There have been rumours that the two are essentially the same device with a different badge on them, meant for different markets. More recently, a company executive has seemingly confirmed this in a statement.
The Verge reports that Pete Lau has instructed teams at both companies to develop the foldable device “in tandem to be released under both brands in different markets”. The report notes that the announcement emailed to the outlet did not mention which specific devices the company was referring two, but claims of similarities between the OnePlus Open and OPPO Find N3 would line up with the announcement. And for context, Lau is OPPO’s chief product officer as well as co-founder and CEO of OnePlus.
