Published: Apr. 26, 2024, 4:42 p.m.The Market Street Bridge, which connects Harrisburg to the west shore and City Island, will close for two nights in the beginning of May while PennDOT conducts a lighting study in advance ofThe closures are planned for 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. on May 6 and May 7. The western portion of the bridge, connecting the Wormleysburg/Lemoyne area in Cumberland County to City Island, will be open to emergency vehicles only.
Drivers on the west shore should proceed north on Front Street and turn left on Elm Street to North Second Street, then cross the Harvey Taylor Bridge before turning right onto Front Street to Market Street.
