Are free markets more important than free speech? We aren’t supposed to ask such questions because each of those libertarian goals was supposed to reinforce the other. But they clearly don’t, so it’s time to take a closer look at what “freedom” really means in Australia today.

Consumer capitalism IS the problem with Allen Jones, you numpties, it is not some ideologically neutral tool. God help us, harnessing the power of capitalism for social causes delivered us the totally compromised same-sex-marriage campaign which has led to the religious bill.

This essential liberal 'vote with your dollar' argument is totally flawed because it leaves any movement fundamentally unable to draw distinctions and moral principles in its own right. Look at all this mewing and postulating - no wonder 'progressive' libs can't win elections.
