Many viewers across the country won’t be familiar with Joe Donlon, Marni Hughes and Rob Nelson, the lead anchor team of cable network WGN America’s new national newscast “News Nation” set to debut Sept. 1.
“They have no preconceived impressions,” Compton said by phone Monday. “We just hired local journalists who have not been at opinionated networks because let’s face it, the big three news channels are all opinionated — two on the left , one on the right . We want them to come from local stations which tend to report facts and let you come to your own opinion.”
Compton said his company has done extensive research that shows a large audience segment is seeking a news service without a political bent. “They are venturing into uncharted territory,” he said. “I always welcome new news programming, but I’m not sure being non-partisan is going to be a sufficient driver of audience with all the other options out there.”While “News Nation” will be scheduled for three hours a night, including weekends, the program will have extended coverage beyond those hours when warranted.
Is it an opinion or a fact when a candidate tells provable big lies? Is it neutral to report and repeat what they say knowing for a fact it is a lie? Is it neutral to say that a lie is a lie?
That would be refreshing.

CNN is more biased than FOX news. I would welcome the facts and would love to see both sides challenged equally. The problem is that money talks and the radical elements will boycott your advertisers if they disagree.

Anything is better than CNN and nearly all of MSM. I listen to people in their garages with more credibility. Frankly, LA Times used to be a reputable news paper as well

'Walter Cronkite School of Journalism' Well Walter was certainly entertaining/colorful, but he was indeed a far leftie. How else would he have received CBS's approval to illegally bug the Republican National Convention, and not yet be criticized by our national mainstream media?
A neutral news program would be nice, as long as the information is comprehensive, covering multiple angles, with no opinion or strong emotion thrown into it. While no source can truly be bias-free because it's impossible to cover everything, striving for it is still good. 🙂

First you need to get rid of the Trump Republicans and their attacks on the free press.
It says they are navigating into 'uncharted territory' basically by being neutral and delivering fact-checked responsible news. It's not uncharted, it was just regrettably abandoned. I am happy this is being made available.
