Apple will pay $113 million in a settlement for an investigation into its past practice of intentionally slowing down people's iPhones.
The payout is the latest Apple has made in regard to the matter — the company paid $500 million to settle a class-action lawsuit in May. The so-called "batterygate" scandal dates back to 2017 when customers began noticing that their devices were slowing down after downloading new versions of Apple's software. Apple at the time did admit that the updates indeed slowed down the phones to prevent their aging batteries from causing the devices to randomly shut down.
Only $300 fine equivalent to them.

Im tired of Mega corps paying fines 10-15% of the actual money they made. This doesnt slow down or stop criminal or unethical behavior. I encourages it. It then a business decision. OK so we will make $100 million for fraud, pay 15 million for legal, 15 million for fine
