The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) has called for Eskom Group CEO Andre De Ruyter to be sacked. The party is accusing him of failing to fix the problems faced by the power utility.

EFF Member of Parliament, Piaba Madokwe says there should be consequences against senior executives at Eskom who are not doing their jobs.

“We need to stabilise coal prices including cancelling Exaro corrupt contract. Number 2, we need to fire the Eskom CEO Andre De Ruyter and COO Jan Oberholzer and appoint a new competent executive with engineering qualifications. competent and must come with operational generation experience. How is it that the power unit four in Medupi fall because there was none who was monitoring it? And Jan Oberholzer was not fired nor suspended.

The National Freedom Party has defended the Minister of Public Enterprises Pravin Gordhan and Eskom Group CEO Andre De Ruyter, regarding their handling of the energy crisis facing the country. Speaking during a debate in parliament, NFP MP Shaik Emam said it was wrong to blame Gordhan and De Ruyter for the rolling blackouts.

“Minister Gordhan was not there. So, why are we attacking Minister Gordhan? CEO de Ruyter was not there. So, why are we attacking the CEO? Why are we attacking Ms Mavuso? She was never there. She is telling you exactly what has happened. Why are you not going and attack Chief Justice Zondo. Go and attack because he has said it in no uncertain terms that it is the ANC that is the root cause Eskom, to be where it is today and most of the corruption in most of the state-owned entities.

MOTOR MOUTH and his gang of experts can take over and destroy the last bit left over by the ANC gang.

Interesting how government always put a light brown person in charge when something is failing or broken...that way they can do what they so do well...blaming 😡 Julius I’m sorry to say..ur not a revolutionary..ur a politician.

It's long overdue...the Country is in darkness every second day of the week

No he must stay, the CEO who stopped load shedding was attacked and labelled as a corrupt person.

If he is expected to instantly fix 28 years of mismanagement and an entrenched culture of corruption, he definitely failed. Maybe the expectations were a bit high bearing in mind that those who appointed him are part of the problem. The EFF should aim higher.

Once again, too much undeserved publicity for the EFF by . Sometimes the press is to blame. SABC news please publish the following: ' I hereby call for the EFF to be silenced until all pending legal action against them is concluded'. Just as news worthy 😄

I am NOT an Eskom_SA fan at all but how do the stupid EFF or anyone else expect Eskom or De Ruyter to fix in months what the useless ANC neglected for years ? No logic there but then again, it is the EFF we are talking about. We are stuck with this mess because of the ANC.

He’s not accused … he’s failing; he’s mastered the art of keeping South Africans in the dark

Will one of their BA degree experts then take over and pull a VBS-bank on Eskom? Bleddy fools
