A former employee of Guinness Nigeria Plc, Chika Anya, has approached the Industrial Court sitting in Akure, the Ondo State capital, to challenge the termination of his appointment by the company.

The claimant, who filed the suit through his counsel, Durodoluwa Oyeyiola, said apart from the alleged illegal sacking, the company allegedly restricted him from proper medical attention, denied him of opportunity to go on annual leave even after presentation of medical report from the hospital which indicated that his blood pressure was constantly on the rise and thus required prompt medical attention.

He also alleged that the company involved in the imposition of about-to-expire products on him to sell , infringement on his fundamental human right, disabling his device and removal of his name from the database two weeks before the end of his appointment among others. However, the case was not heard by the court as the judge, Justice K. D. Damulak, said there was no proof that the other party had received the motion to relist the case. He fixed November 1, 2022 for relisting of the matter. All rights reserved.
