Enoch Godongwana, who took up the position of finance minister just over a year ago, is one of the top performers in President Cyril Ramaphosa's cabinet.

The biggest of these is the decision to solve the Eskom debt problem by relieving the troubled company of a large portion of its debt, freeing it up to borrow again. This is essential if Eskom is to prepare for the massive expansion of renewable energy envisaged by government energy planners and the Presidency. Godongwana has said the National Treasury will take one- to two-thirds of Eskom's debt onto its balance sheet, with the details to be announced in February.

He has held the line on other state-owned enterprises, in particular SAA, which – supported by the minister's committee on the budget – he has so far refused to fund. Denel has also been shown tough love and has had to take steps to improve its financial position before support from the Treasury flows.

politicsblahbla Wait a minute Enoch Godongwana the man accused of wanting a 'happy' ending at some Lodge in Mpumalanga Allegedly 🤭🤭😂...Again I repeat ALLEGEDLY I Don't want to be catching summons papers anytime soon. This man really does perform and Excell in all departments 🤭🤭🤭😂😂

politicsblahbla He is one of the only politicians that, when asked a question, is able to give an intelligent comprehensible answer. Leagues above the rest, who are mostly tea boys and girls with struggle credentials.

politicsblahbla Imagine, you right a book and rate yourself, then write a report about the rating and book you wrote. How sick demented one must be, well, that's what News24 is doing. Creates a scenario all by themselves and then, report on it like it's the reality. Talking about creating news.

politicsblahbla I admit, I really do have confidence in this man hands down 🙌🏼

politicsblahbla 🤣

politicsblahbla Top performance in Interest Rate increases. We are left with nothing since they raised rates, food price up and fuel as well...

politicsblahbla According to the article he is the top performer for mainly two things, 1. Refusing to commit to making social relief grant permanent and not funding ailing SOCS. The bar is too low and the litmus test is neoliberal. But ok.
