Historic Lancashire pub in heart of picturesque village hits market at £425k after closure

The Grapes, in Croston, is listed for sale with property specialists Fleurets after closing down in 2022. The pub is located in the heart of the village and is available on a freehold basis with a £425,00 price tag.

The pub's setting is an 18th century Grade II listed building which was once used as a court house and even had its own cells. Its current layout includes a lounge bar; a formal dining room with 40 covers; a snug; and a games room. The first floor has a large function room and private accommodation with three bedrooms.The Grapes was highly regarded for its food before its closure along with its location near to the River Yarrow and its 15th century bridge.

Fleuret's listing states: "The Grapes is located in Croston. A picture postcard village, with historic homes & cottages, a church that dates back to William the Conqueror and a cobbled packhorse bridge, erected in the 15th century, which crosses the River Yarrow. "The premises are situated in a prominent position facing the A581, a busy road that runs Rufford and Chorley. The property is located approximately five miles west of Chorley and eight miles east of Southport."
