Frisco is one of the hottest cities in North Texas for homebuyers. Wednesday’s announcement of a new Universal theme park could throw more fuel into that fire —...

One local business expert said the incoming park has shifted the area’s growth trajectory forward. Residents have mixed reactions.

Frisco and surrounding cities are known for being big magnets for families, so it’s not a shock to real estate agents that Universal would build a kid-centric park in town. Frisco home prices have risen dramatically over the past three years, from about $656,000 in November 2019 to $720,000 in November 2022, according to local Realtor associations and the Texas Real Estate Research Center at Texas A&M University.
