KwaZulu-Natal Education MEC Sipho Hlomuka says he’ll be meeting with President Cyril Ramaphosa on Friday to discuss the extent of the damage caused to schools as a result of severe flooding.

KZN along with the Eastern Cape have been hit hard by heavy rains, resulting in infrastructure damage to schools and homes. The South African Weather Services has issued a warning for disruptive rain, strong winds and severe thunderstorms for KZN until tomorrow.“I must indicate that we have made arrangements for those learners to make sure that they write their Geography paper. I must indicate that there are a number of schools especially primary schools that have been affected especially in uMgungundlovu District. Our engineers are on the ground assessing the situation.
