Video conferencing service Zoom says its product is suitable for Australian companies and agencies that require confidentiality, despite concerns raised by security researchers | TimBiggs

Video conferencing service Zoom says its product is suitable for Australian companies and agencies that require confidentiality, despite concerns raised by security researchers and reports that some calls and encryption keys were routed through China.

"We have been working around the clock to ensure that all of our users — new and old, large and small — can stay in touch and continue running businesses during these times".The US-based company's video conferencing service has surged in popularity since March, becoming the go-to option for millions of people forced to work and socialise from home amid the Coronavirus pandemic.

"For organisations like SpaceX and NASA to discontinue the use of Zoom speaks volumes in itself but users also need to ramp up their privacy settings, and ensure a safe virtual environment for everyone."
