Roadside attractions can sometimes get a bad rep as tourist traps. But some stops are actually worth the time and money, according to travelers.

The story goes that in 1966 and 1967, residents of Point Pleasant claimed to have seen a human-like, winged insect creature with glowing red eyes about town. It was dubbed the "Mothman."Amanda Voisard/For the Washington Post/Getty ImagesMedia attention and conspiracy theories inevitably followed, and "The World's Only Mothman Museum" now puts all things related to the local legend on display for visitors, from memorabilia and books ...

A Mothman doll hangs from the ceiling on Dec. 11, 2007, at the Mothman Museum in Point Pleasant, West Virginia.... to some creative reinterpretations of what the creature is said to have looked like.There are also newspaper clippings and written first-hand accounts from people who said they've seen the creature on display.

Tourist traps sounds better than the Scandinavian, failed, Schengen created road piracy. They need helicopter police.

I've been to hole in the rock. It's interesting but definitely on the same tier level as 'largest ball of twine' and not worth going too far out of the way to see. Thanks for listening to my Ted Talk.
