Private jet company Clay Lacy Aviation, founded by a donor to President Trump, received nearly $27 million in coronavirus relief funding.

A private jet company founded by a donor to President Donald Trump received nearly $27 million in government funding under a program run by the Treasury Department, according to government filings.

The vast majority of the other 96 recipients of government funding or loans on the list are major commercial airlines, regional carriers or support companies.Photo: Nick Gray | FlickrCCreceived nearly $27 million in government funding under a program run by the Treasury Department, according to government filings.

The funding is a grant rather than a loan, and doesn't need to be repaid to the government. The money is part of the CARES Act program to "compensate aviation industry workers and preserve jobs." According to election filings, Lacy gave $2,700 to the Trump campaign in 2016 — the maximum for an individual to give to the campaign — and he gave $47,000 to the Republican National Committee after Trump became the nominee.

This company should return the money, make it public until they do

Grifters United....

Oh no! Someone got some government money? It seems to me everyone is getting it. If it keeps the common person working so be it. For god sakes we are giving people cash not to work. Find a better topic !

How do I find out how much Gulfstream was allotted, if any?

Yet, GOP didn’t want oversight ! what small business (small !) would need this kind of money for a 12 week period ? there were no limits on payouts !?

Sickening

TrumpCrimeFamily

What a surprise

Relief fund that pays for their employees. Let’s also not forget banks gives you the loan not the government. This is fake news to attack the President

It's your tax dollars from your paycheck.....ha !

And this is shocking to anyone how? This clown has beendoing these things for at least the last 3 years

People aren’t stupid enough to believe that Trump controls who gets approved for these loans, right? This “the president decided to award” quote is the most ignorant and misleading thing that could have been included in this article.

That Trump he is AWESOME 👏🏼

People who donate to trump are business owners. They have every damn right to the program regardless if they donate or not. Stop the click bait cnbc you are better than this.

How many employees does he have? Just because they make jets doesn't mean the employees have jets.

I’m just trying to get a few cans of free potted meat. Dang!!!!

What a poorly written & one-sided article. Is there proof that realdonaldtrump took an active role in this guy getting his funding? Does the guy / his business somehow not qualify because he donated to Trump? I donated, so does that mean I have to give back the $193,000 also?

When does this money get returned?

The Kennedy Center received 75 million.

So?

CONGRESS wrote the CARES act, not Trump.

If only there was some sort of oversight committee...

So only Democrats and Liberal business owners get bailout money? I missed that part! Should be a lot cheaper for the taxpayer since liberals hate the private sector and don’t start private firms!

Totally normal!

Hmmmm....nothing shady about that shit. Giving away taxpayer $$ to realDonaldTrump kiss asses. No wonder they don’t want oversight

Whats the problem? Just saw an article, FBI arrest Rapper for Fraud..He got two million in Aid...Bought a Rolls Royce, jewelry.....etc. Now he's in jail. What's your Point?

Gross!!! There are people out there who can’t pay their mortgage, rent, but food! I’m curious who used this jet company in the past and if they’ll continue to use them.

So? Company cant have funds because owner donated to a campaign? The loan was not due to donation? It was applied for and given by SBA. What are you conveying cnbc?

Looks like the swamp is getting bigger! What happened to drain the swamp?!?!? TrumpVirus

Winner take all

AWESOME!

And not one Hillary donor got a PPP loan.

Congress gave themselves a raise

Almost $50k in political donations landed him a $27 million grant. That's one hell of a return on investment realDonaldTrump.

В это тяжело поверить

What a joke. CNBC thinks a $2,700 contribution was influential? Hahahahahahahahahahha I’m dead, lol. CNBC- when serious reporting is optional.

Plutocracy. When ordinary right wingers wake up, stop hating, stop their fake patriotism, stop their ignorance is when this will stop...

Swamped

'The entire country is hurting during this pandemic...But the President decided to award a campaign donor with $27 million in free government money.'

That figures.

Did they apply for it and get awarded? Why is this a supposed story?

AND IT'S RUMORED HE WILL DONATE ALL THAT MONEY TO TRUMP'S REELECTION!😇😇😇

Meanwhile the Live Entertainment Industry has lost hundreds of thousands of jobs with no realistic date for their return. We need help a lot more than this private jet guy

This is the second time you tweeted this story. What’s the matter? Not enough negative reaction the first time?

Clay Lacy Aviation, a private jet charter company received the largest grant of any private jet company on the list. The vast majority of the other 96 recipients of government funding or loans on the list are major commercial airlines, regional carriers or support companies.

“Drain the swamp”

Like the 3rd time you tweeted this today panic

Give it back!

Clickbait bitches.
