Farmers in Labason, Zamboanga del Norte now have a better way of transporting their agricultural goods to the market after a road connecting two villages in their place was recently paved.

A 706-meter farm-to-market road connecting Barangay Lopoc and Barangay Dansalan in the municipality of Labason was recently paved, providing a shorter travel of eight minutes between the villages.

Villar said the completed project greatly benefits farmers in Labason relying on corn, chicken, and swine production for their livelihood. The local road paving is a convergence project of the DPWH and the Department of Trade and Industry . “The newly-built revetment structure will avert flooding and overflow of Talinga River and lessen the damage brought by typhoon season in the low-lying area of Barangay Talinga,” Villar said.
