We spoke to top companies who hired remotely through the pandemic. Here's what Twitter, Dropbox and Zoom revealed about their new successful recruiting strategies

With remote working becoming the norm, companies have had to move their hiring process to 100% remote.

Companies are adopting different strategies. For example, video-conferencing provider Zoom and the social media site Twitter both hired recruiting coordinators to prepare candidates for virtual interviews. At the German travel comparison firm Trivago, which has hired 65 new staff remotely since April, recruiters are trained to recognize challenges candidates might face in the current setup, but also to give detailed responses about new onboarding measures and work setup.

One of the hardest things to recreate virtually is corporate values. Candidates don't get the taste of the office environment they would have had during a face-to-face interview, meanwhile, recruiters struggle to understand applicants' traits and their culture fit. Zoom, on the other hand, provides guidelines to recruiters on how to determine if a candidate would fit with the company's values. Recruiters are given a set of questions and a spectrum of answers they should hear from applicants.
