In this age of populism, wealth concentration around a couple of metropolitan regions is enhancing political polarization and hurting climate progress. If business leaders want to support the climate cause, they need to locate their new offices outside metropolitan regions.

Critics will probably say that Amazon would have a hard time attracting talent for its new office in these regions. We disagree. If Amazon moves,. Why? Because cities recognize that when Amazon locates a new office facility , it creates well-paying jobs. Importantly, it shines the spotlight on the area, encouraging other companies to locate, along with numerous suppliers and sub-contractors. This way the economic fortunes of the area get transformed.
