A fireworks display will cap off the event

As the Christmas light celebrations get underway in the next few weeks, it's been announced West Bridgford will hold a switch-on event on Saturday, November 19. The event will see performances from The Voice star Mark Howard, local groups and also more than 40 different festive stalls on Central Avenue.

The light switch on will start at 5pm with the Mayor of Rushcliffe, Councillor Tina Combellack, followed by fireworks. The evening will round off with a performance from the LED freestyle performers at 5.05pm. Heavenly Horsebox, The Beeston Brownie Company, Vegetarian Rasoi, The Thirsty Farmer and The Alpine Pizza Company will be on hand for a caffeine boost or a cheeky pizza slice. PORCO, Beanin Coffee, Lakey’s Bakes, Ghar Ka Khana, Ruddy Fine Gin and Hanwell Wine Estate will also have stalls at the event.

Rushcliffe Borough Council’s cabinet portfolio holder for communities and climate change, Councillor Abby Brennan, said: “This annual event is a great way to get into the Christmas spirit. It’s a fantastic day for residents across the Borough to enjoy an array of free entertainment and indulge in festive treats.
