ICYMI: The North West Company has reduced the price of rent on eight parcels of land in Cartwright to $1 with no plans to increase, but also no plans to transfer ownership to people whose homes sit there. At least one resident won't be paying the loonie.

In Cartwright, Howard’s parents gifted them their former home as a wedding present. But the home was located on what was then land owned by the Hudson’s Bay Company , the former fur-trading operation and oldest corporation in Canada.
