ESKOM LIVE | Stage 6 load shedding to be implemented on Saturday night

Stage 6 load shedding will be implemented from 20:00 on Saturday, to 05:00 on Sunday, Eskom said in an update.

Eskom will be implementing Stage 4 load shedding until further notice, it said late on Friday night. In a brief statement shortly before midnight, Eskom said this was owing to breakdowns of a generating unit each at Koeberg, Medupi, Kriel, Arnot and Lethabo power stations. Vandals, thieves now targeting pylons, risking collapse, Eskom warns

While not a complete solution on its own, rooftop solar is the quickest and easiest solve for the country's electricity crisis. From cafes to beauticians: How load shedding takes a toll on small businesses South Africa’s decarbonisation plans have sent"powerful signals to pension funds like us", says Adam Matthews, chief responsible investment officer at the Church of England Pensions Board, which manages £3.7 billion on behalf of its members.

"A generating unit each at Grootvlei and Kriel power stations were returned to service during the period." South Africa needs to demonstrate its ability to use $8.5 billion in energy transition funds quickly and wisely if it hopes to secure the greater financing required to sustainably and justly move away from fossil fuels, said minister of forestry, fisheries and environmental affairs, Barbara Creecy.

And he will be applauded by ANC politicians implicated in the Zondo Commission's report, not from the dock of the High Court, but from their Cabinet members' seats. Contrary to claims that Eskom's leadership is anti-coal, the power utility will continue to use the commodity for the next half-century, says outgoing CEO André De Ruyter.

SA Revenue Service commissioner Edward Kieswetter says that tax compliance measures are paying off so well that he and the National Treasury agree there is no need to impose new taxes now. Eskom needs debt relief and tariffs, or its back to Treasury with a 'begging bowl': De Ruyter Rolling blackouts of about six to 12 hours a day, or so-called Stage 3 and Stage 6 outages, detract between R204 million and R899 million from the economy daily, the South African Reserve Bank said in an emailed response to questions on Monday.

On Wednesday Stage 2 will be implemented from 05:00 to 16:00, then it will jump to Stage 3 until 05:00 on Thursday morning. Since Saturday two generation units at Arnot, and a single unit each at Camden, Duvha and Kendal power stations had to be taken offline for repairs. Stage 4 load shedding will start on Friday morning while Stage 3 load shedding will kick in early on Saturday morning.

Gee state of disaster so effective!!!!€€£££¥¥§§§§

🤣

Blackouts are not caused by an act of God. They are caused by ANC dogma, policies, cadre deployment, corruption, theft and sabotage which, combined with a deliberately collapsed criminal justice system. The ANC is 100% responsible for blackouts.

Abo Clever blacks bakephi 💔💔💔

Absolutely no reprieve for weeks on end. Left hand (ANC) has no clue what the right hand (Eskom) is doing. This is the biggest political game ever come to South Africa in past 20 years.

Lets give them another chance

This is bullshit... This load shedding is targeting certain areas.

Don't forget, eskom is poor, they have no money after paying bonuses for killing people, companies and the economy. Eskom cant pay for repairs.

Should be called ANC live not Eskum

Get rid of the ANC NOW!!!!!

Wow

Why aren’t we marching against Loadshedding again?

Of course. Disaster, chaos and despair got to be seen and felt. Akere?

Black excellence lol.

What ever. Never hear of any repairs, only breakdowns. They switch power off too easily, instead of repairing the faulty units. Unacceptable.
