Legendary food storage brand Tupperware has hired advisors to help turn around the company after notifying regulators it may have to close up shop.

, it lost $28.4 million in its most recent quarter amid higher costs, inflationary pressures and lower sales.

Now, the company says it is exploring all options to regain its financial footing, including accessing new lines of credit, tapping new investors, selling some of its real estate and further cost-cutting. “Tupperware has embarked on a journey to turn around our operations and today marks a critical step in addressing our capital and liquidity position,” Miguel Fernandez, president and chief executive officer of Tupperware Brands, said in the April 7 statement. “The Company is doing everything in its power to mitigate the impacts of recent events, and we are taking immediate action to seek additional financing and address our financial position.

I had no idea they were still around. I don’t ever hear about them or see their products anywhere.

Going out of business because no food to storage 🙃

The quality went down over the years. Cheaper options, same or better quality available at grocery stores now.

I bought a couple pieces last summer. The products simply aren’t as good as they used to be! I was trying to replace things I’d lost, S&P set and a jello mold. The plastic is just not the same! Thin and hard. I’ll buy no more.

I’m surprised they didn’t get into the coffin production business. We have Tupperware well over 50 years old that’s still good.

Love Tupperware, however, it has gotten to be very expensive. I still have containers that probably 30 years old or more.

How is it possible?

didn't even know they were still around... thought they were gone years ago.

The Ziploc bag did them in

They had a good run.

*Legendary' is the newsroom's most overblown descriptor.

Repubs must be freaking out over all those colors (woke!!!).
