A Fox Lake man who had been fired Tuesday from his job at an automotive business returned that night and set a motorcycle on fire outside the building, the Lake County sheriff’s office said.

Authorities have charged Jonathan V. Tracy, 31, with arson for allegedly setting a fire at the Antioch-area business.The sheriff’s office said a passing motorist called police at about 11:50 p.m. to report a fire at the business in the 25500 block of Illinois Route 173. The caller told police that it appeared someone was intentionally starting fires at the business.

Deputies arrived to find Tracy, who they said had just set a motorcycle ablaze that was parked outside the shop. The motorcycle was engulfed in flames when police arrived. Tracy, police said, was attempting to spread the flames with oil and gasoline.Police said that Tracy had been fired from his job there earlier in the day, and he was starting fires because he wanted his boss to come to the shop and explain why he had been terminated.
