The University of Nottingham was previously in advanced talks about buying Crocus Place

A prime development site near Nottingham's train station is back on the market after a university confirmed it was no longer in talks about buying it. Crocus Place is a triangular piece of land edged by Arkwright Street to the west and Crocus Street to the south.

It was reported in July 2021 that the University of Nottingham was in "advanced" talks about purchasing Crocus Place. Councillor David Mellen, the Leader of Nottingham City Council, said at the time that the plan would "benefit both the city and the university."But the development site is now being advertised again after a University of Nottingham spokesperson said it was no longer in talks.
