The business, based in Little Island, supplies and installs electric vehicle (EV) chargers

EPower, a Cork based company which supplies and installs infrastructure for electric vehicles , has raised €2 million in a funding round from private investors. The round, which EPower said was oversubscribed, attracted investment from a combination of new and existing investors.

The business plans to use the investment to fund further development of its products, as well as providing additional resources for its sales and marketing teams. John O’Keeffe, chief executive of EPower, said the combination of government plans for electric cars and consumer sentiment aided the investment round. A record breaking number of EVs were registered in Ireland in the 12 months to July.
