Audrey McCarthy revealed she felt 'honoured' to receive prize.

Audrey McCarthy, a makeup artist and lecturer from Springside in North Ayrshire, won the makeup artist of the year 2023 accolade at the Scottish Beauty Industry Awards.

"I had a difficult couple of years personally that led me to refocus my attention in which I poured my heart and soul into my work. The recognition was unexpected and emotional, it’s giving me the nudge to keep going and doing what I’m doing. Audrey now has a full-time position as a makeup artistry lecturer at New College Lanarkshire and occasionally teaches at Ayrshire College, as well as focusing on fashion, editorial and commercial work.
