The Chairman, Senate Committee on Capital Market and Institutions, Senator Osita Izunaso, has lauded the new minimum capital requirements for banks operating in Nigeria.

The objective of the recapitalisation is to ensure a more safe, sound and stable banking system that would help to strengthen the country’s financial system in general.

He continued: “ I have no doubt that the successful implementation of this exercise will have salutary impact on the capital market.” “ This has the potential to deepen the market, increase equities market capitalization as well as serve as a veritable source of Foreign Direct Investment with positive multiplier effects on the economy.

The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has pledged support for upcoming artistes in the state to enable them compete favourably with their peers across the globe.The Federal Government has approved the disbursement of N25. 8b from the Basic Health Provision Fund for the upgrade, and expansion of primary healthcare centres nationwide.

Some political leaders under the umbrella of The Mandate Movement have organised a special inter-faith prayer session in commemoration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 72nd birthday.
