Paul Armstrong died Aug. 18. He and husband Warren Richard created the Virginia Wine Time site almost 20 years ago and have been posting their observations and tasting notes on there since.

Said wine writer Frank Morgan, right, about Virginia Wine Time co-founder Paul Armstrong: 'I don’t think realized how important his voice was to Virginia wine and the positive impact VWT has had on the industry.'Almost 20 years ago Paul Armstrong and Warren Richard decided to share their many thoughts on a subject they were already frequently exploring: wine.

“It was funny because they would always come to the winery and they’d never tell you. It was almost like an imposition to give me a call. And more often than not, we’d end up in the barrel room, kind of tasting wines out of the barrel and them writing notes and stuff like that.
