Parliament has paid tribute to former Labour Minister, Membathisi Mdladlana.

The presiding officers say Mdladlana’s legacy of service and commitment to the country will always be remembered.He was a member of Parliament for 15 years. Parliament says as one of the first post-apartheid MPs, Mdladlana played an important role in navigating South Africa through its early democratic journey.

Spokesperson Moloto Mothapo says Mdladlana was a true activist. “His significant contributions to the drafting of the bill of rights, are a lasting testament to his dedication to safeguarding the fundamental freedoms of all South Africans. Throughout his exceptional career, he held several key positions, each marked by his leadership and unwavering resolve to serve the nation.
