This after the 24-year-old cyclist allegedly resisted arrest at the Silvermine Section of the Table Mountain National Park.

Meanwhile, South African National Parks says it will institute an independent investigation into the matter with immediate effect.Spokesperson Rey Tlakuli says no one is above the law. A fellow cyclist Donovan Le Cok who posted the video of the scuffle between Dlamini and the Table Mountain National Park rangers claims Dlamini was never aggressive nor resisted the rangers.

He says an altercation broke out when a group of about six rangers allegedly grabbed the handlebars of Dlamini’s bicycle, causing him to crash. Le Cok says there was a heated discussion between Dlamini and the rangers as he was upset that he had been knocked off his bicycle.

Breaking someone's arm for a permit, now he can't represent us in the competition, I can imagine the sound of a snapping bone, something should be done.

I’m sorry but that is not how you treat someone for not having a stupid permit. A fine = ok, but don’t arrest or assault someone! That is grievous bodily harm. Insane. Imagine if he was a tourist! And what about the impact it will have on SAns and their opinion of “law enforcers”

I'm thrilled these thugs are being held accountable, but how many times has this happened with a non famous person, we saw a ranger bullying tourists at Boulders and had to step in and call his supervisor. It's the thing of a little power...
