Rwanda President Paul Kagame has fired the country’s vocal State Minister for the East African Community, Olivier Nduhungirehe, for what is said to be “consistently acting based on personal opinions”.

It is not clear why Prime Minister Olivier Nduhungirehe was fired but he has been a rabble rouser on social media.

It was not clear why he was dropped from the cabinet, but Nduhungirehe has been a rabble-rouser on social media. A statement from the Prime Minister’s office indicated that he had been removed from office for consistently acting based on personal opinions over Government. He responded to the dismissal in a tweet thanking President Kagame for appointing him to the job over two years ago.

Minutes after the firing was made public, Nduhungirehe is reported to have deleted a series of tweets in which he appeared to contradict the official account about the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi, according to the East African Newspaper, a weekly newspaper that covers events in the East African region.
