The ambitious climate targets set by some of Australia's biggest companies will be publicly tracked from next year in a federal government-led push to ensure they keep true to their word.

Mr Taylor will tell the Carbon Market Institute's Australasian Emissions Reduction Summit on Friday that he will write to the chief executives of every ASX 200 and National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting company that has announced an emissions reduction target to offer them the support of government to achieve their aims.

Mr Taylor will also announce on Friday the Emissions Reduction Fund will be expanded to help unlock further abatement across the economy including in hard-to-abate sectors such as manufacturing, industrial and land sectors.

rharris334 Public?

rharris334 try publicly tracking your own pledges first Taylor numb nuts

rharris334 Surely Mr Taylor could offer these companies a generous grant in order to offset any financial pain & allow the kicking of the can further down the road...

rharris334 So holding others to account while they do absolutely nothing, then claim the credit. Typical of the marketing boy in charge of the country. scottyfromarketing

rharris334 This is satire..... surely.

rharris334 Imagine taking advice on climate action from the current federal government. They have zero credibility until they do something themselves.

rharris334 Let’s hope the thermometer is administered orally.

rharris334 More 💩 fkry from rubber lips brought to the Australian public as some sort of positive move by LNP Pravda

rharris334 Is that a picture of the very same Angus Taylor who’s office released a fraudulent document in order to harm a political rival ), lied about it then when caught said he’d cooperate with police , but again lied, and didn’t. and nothing happened ..that Angus ‘corrupt’ Taylor .
