Australia’s tourism industry is pleading with Prime Minister Scott Morrison to orchestrate a national approach to border policy – however, Mr Morrison has shown himself to be almost powerless in changing state leaders’ minds.

The Tourism Council today is pushing for the prime minister to use the JobKeeper program’s March end date as leverage against the states. A number of public figures have argued states are able to close borders at a moment’s notice because they are not financially responsible. Federal Labor also joined the push, saying the Commonwealth needs to do more to broker a national approach.

AustraliaTRVisa ScottMorrisonMP ScottMorrisonMP what he has done in entire pandemic He just closed the international and inter state borders. And then he is saying virus is not transmitting.. what a joke.. at least learn from developing counties that how they are moving their country with whole world.

ScottMorrisonMP TTFAus EcotourismAus ATECtoday AusChamber AustralianLabor LIberalP The_Nationals Why pleading for what needs to be done. Better national & collaborative approach for quarantining primary source of all outbreaks here.People coming in from overseas.🇦🇺Can’t sustain same again

ScottMorrisonMP And I thought we were one and free Mr Morrison

ScottMorrisonMP Hotels not designed to be Quarantine facilities in densely populated cities (which COVID loves).Cubic air capacity air con in some facilities would not meet standards for this level for infectious disease control. Self iso, exemptions not all follow. Remote quarantine stations!

ScottMorrisonMP Well we will be back here again and again iunless better controls put in place and enforced forpeople returning or coming from overseas as primary source & link to current outbreaks. 40,000 Aussies yet to return, thousands others each month, aircrews, shipcrews, exemptions etc

ScottMorrisonMP Won’t be the last outbreak or pandemic.Govt should use some of it’s new MMT economic deficit approach to build for the now & future, purpose built state of art remote quarantine stations using Aussie smarts & tech.Create some jobs in regions too. One for National Cabinet agenda

ScottMorrisonMP Couldn't orchestrate a national Bunnings sausage sizzle auspol

ScottMorrisonMP Always slow out of the blocks is Scotty.

ScottMorrisonMP He wanted to hand power over to the states so he could glide through without anything sticking to him. Now the states have decided they don’t need him. And neither do we.

ScottMorrisonMP All too late. Australia is doomed as one country as the power hungry state Premiers have taken this to another level and dream of new nations. Morrison is too weak to put these dictators back in their shoes box. Troubling times ahead for the land down under.

ScottMorrisonMP I recall the arts industry pleading too but that fell on deaf ears. Suspect they weren’t on the right side of politics to be heard or actioned.

ScottMorrisonMP Mr Morrison has shown himself to be the most laziest (and inept) PM in living history.

ScottMorrisonMP Withhold the money and Premiers will comply

ScottMorrisonMP Useless..he's just a slogan slugging chump! Borders are a mess! Maybe he will change another word in the Aussie anthem this week?

ScottMorrisonMP Easy stop incentivising the States. Stop funding them, no Complience no money make it law. If their citizens starve it will be on the premiers head. Labor premiers won’t listen to reason, time to step up SCOMO.

ScottMorrisonMP Morrison is powerless because the High Court found border closures were necessary and appropriate. Makes his objections, and those of all the other dickheads, look pretty silly.

ScottMorrisonMP Needs constitutional change Cutting federal gov $$$$ off may move a few voter's compasses.

ScottMorrisonMP He's lost control of the country & he knows it. Hence why he's being quiet. He's a useless leader is LazyScott. He's lucky geography has kept us safe. Imagine if he had to work hard on making decisions other than you get locked up & you get locked out. AlboMP StepUpAlbo

ScottMorrisonMP HE doesn't care anything except Aussies wanna him resign today

ScottMorrisonMP This is what Morrison wanted. He wanted the states to run the show so he wasn't responsible when things go wrong. It's what happens when you elect a marketing man as PM.

ScottMorrisonMP Well he's been doing his bit for the tourism industry. He's always on holidays!!

Powerless or Incompetent 🤔

ScottMorrisonMP At best SCOMO will form a committee to spread the responsibility so none can hold him accountable

ScottMorrisonMP The tourism industry must re-calibrate and focus on local tourism - if the volume of tour options is too great many must close down. Old things have passed away!!

ScottMorrisonMP Scotty from Marketing knows tourism - * Director of NZ Tourism & Sport (1998-2000) * Managing Director of Tourism Aust (2004-2006) But the tourist industry & News Corp/SKY don't understand the limitations of a Federated Australia A creation from Scotty's NZ team, still in use

ScottMorrisonMP Health is state based and it will be a state based response. In all fairness 99%of people i meet are glad QLD closed its borders and never wanted them opened.

ScottMorrisonMP

ScottMorrisonMP No surprises here. His previous forays into tourism led to dismissal

ScottMorrisonMP If ScottyTheAnnouncer managed his constitution role of Borders, Quarantine and Protection of States. Ensured an Iron Wall between COVID19 and Australia. There would be no closures of anything required. Premier locking down states and borders, indicates his failed Government!

ScottMorrisonMP Morrison may need to consult his Washington masters, on complex issues...

ScottMorrisonMP Since day one the premier's have been doing it their way. It is showing up the many problems with federation. To many cooks in the kitchen. 👎

ScottMorrisonMP Scotty does not work for us, who is he working for?

ScottMorrisonMP Sky News, read upon the Constitution. Attack the State Premiers; you will be told where to go!

ScottMorrisonMP What about ordinary families torn apart

ScottMorrisonMP The tourism industry should be pleading with its state premier(s). He/She holds all the cards in this situation.

ScottMorrisonMP Change the law to suit a business group.....okay

ScottMorrisonMP Maybe our state leaders know how useless our PM is .

ScottMorrisonMP The State elected Premiers are doing what they were elected to do, running their States, nothing more nothing less. Everybody knows the Federal ALP want to seize control & dictate every aspect of our lives, that's precisely why they are being voted into the graveyard of history.

ScottMorrisonMP

ScottMorrisonMP The emperor has no clothes.

ScottMorrisonMP Morrison's no Shining Example🙄A toymtal Dick;in fact!!

ScottMorrisonMP Because where he is trying to govern a country while the premiers are playing politics with people's lives.

ScottMorrisonMP Captain Scomo is powerless because he is leaderless. The Constitution gives Captain Scomo all the power he needs to create a National approach to keeping borders open but Scomo fears an electoral backlash if covid increased on taking such action.

ScottMorrisonMP ScottMorrisonMP will announce that he will make an announcement that he will announce a billion dollars to set up a steering committee headed by Gina and Twiggy who will look into it.

ScottMorrisonMP He could organise a booze up in Hawaii 🌺, but that his limit.

ScottMorrisonMP What would Morrison know about Tourism he got sacked as managing director of Tourism

ScottMorrisonMP Not powerless (well i hope not) but i think his happy to sit back as it helps his job security.

ScottMorrisonMP Seriously what’s the point on going interstate on holiday when you’re given literally hours notice to pack up your family and get out with thousands of others at the drop of hat? How many of those rushing back to avoid forced quarantine maybe infected?

ScottMorrisonMP Australia needs a “strong” leader, like a Putin, right?

ScottMorrisonMP Almost, the sacked tourism now pm has no say.

ScottMorrisonMP Morrison is all talk no action, fake, fraud, weak leader.

ScottMorrisonMP 18 to 20 people in hospital nationwide & you're happy to let ScottMorrisonMP GladysB AnnastaciaMP DanielAndrewsMP allow this industry to die. Well done Australia, you have redefined the term 'Panic Merchants' Australia NewSouthWales Queensland victoriavisitor

ScottMorrisonMP ScottMorrisonMP turn off the tap for the tourism industry and watch the boarders miraculously open

ScottMorrisonMP He is impotent

ScottMorrisonMP Tourism operators need to lobby their own state governments for assistance and money not the federal government. State governments closed the borders not the feds
