“Navistar Direct Marketing was made aware that a man wearing a Navistar company badge was seen inside the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021 during the security breach. After review of the photographic evidence the employee in question has been terminated for cause,” it stated.
“While we support all employee’s right to peaceful, lawful exercise of free speech, any employee demonstrating dangerous conduct that endangers the health and safety of others will no longer have an employment opportunity with Navistar Direct Marketing.” Chansley, meanwhile, was arrested on Saturday, Jan. 9, for breaching Capitol grounds, according to the Department of Justice.
The mob was an attempt to derail Congress as it was set to certify Joe Biden’s win as the new U.S. President over current President Donald Trump. Chaos ensued after Trump incited supporters to march to Capitol Hill. The mob pushed through metal security barricades and entered the Capitol by breaking windows and scaling walls. Once inside, offices were looted and vandalized. Five died during the violent incident.
