Facebook knew it had a huge problem with hateful groups 5 months ahead of the Capitol riots, according to internal docs

The documents were given to Facebook executives by internal data scientists. They said that the majority of— i.e. groups dedicated to political issues — were home to misinformation, hate speech, and threats of violence.

The researchers found that one of the top groups in terms of engagement"aggregates the most inflammatory news stories of the day and feeds them to a vile crowd that immediately and repeatedly calls for violence." They also highlighted hints of foreign influence in some of the groups — one popular group they highlighted called"Trump Train 2020, Red Wave" had"possible Macedonian ties." This group grew to over 2 million members before being taken down by Facebook in September.

We all knew it ANTIFA, BLM....not what they meant? If the violence only affects the poor and middle class it is ok. Just don't get close to the ruling class...then you will be considered a terrorist.

Facebook has become a monster out of control. I think one solution to its emerging issues is to have competition. Otherwise you will end up hearing similar stories every day. This issue has started few years ago and I don’t remember it was being fixed at any point of time

And instead of banning hate groups and people posting anti-Semitic tropes, it banned people like me for posting gifs!!!!!

Yeah democracy Blabla ... I mean we decide what’s Democracy and what’s hate because we are 100% objective ... Go F yourself

And of course nothing was done... My ex post facto fav

Regulate them they can't police themselves

5 months? it started 5 years ago...
