Calgary designer and watchmaker Mark Barrington Griffiths, founder ofhas launched a new line of mechanical, autowind wristwatches called The Sandon . “My intent has always been to create a classic,” said Griffiths in a press release. “A watch that will last — possibly outlast — the wearer and become an heirloom piece.”
Like all Barrington Griffiths watches, The Sandon is made and manufactured in Canada, almost exclusively using locally made parts except for precision mechanical automatic movements from Miyota in Japan. The Sandon features a stainless steel case and leather straps with subtle red stitching for a rugged yet timeless look and feel. The watches self-wind as you move about, so there’s no need for batteries. Now, you’ll never run late to an appointment again — unless it’s fashionably late.
