A food company in Canmore is in hot water over a transphobic response to a donation request by Canmore Pride.
“Please keep these sick people away from the children of this community, you should be disgusted with yourselves.” Jeff’s sister, and daughter of the company’s founders Walter and Leonie von Rotz, Chantal von Rotz, said in a post online Tuesday that Jeff has been removed from the company and its operations.
She said the company has taken further action since Tuesday evening, which includes reaching out to the LGBTQ2S+ community to express their most sincere apologies. Canmore’s Mayor Sean Krausert said in a statement online that the town proudly stands in solidarity with LGBTQ2S+ residents and visitors “who make this town a more vibrant and diverse place to call home.”
The Fairmont Hotels at Jasper Park Lodge and Banff Springs said they will no longer work with or purchase from Valbella. Blush Lane and SPUD posted statements saying they have discontinued their relationship with Valbella.

I mean, that community hasn't exactly done anything to further their cause lately. They are supporting some pretty wild business with petitioning to allow children to decide if they're ready for hormone treatment and the myriad of other crap that goes with it. They lost support

From the article it seems that other organizations are doing most of the protesting. Also it was only one,one man who made the comments and he has been removed. I can't tell if the organizations protesting are just protecting their bottom line?

Although his comments were disgusting, is it the place of a CBC journalist to be bragging on Twitter that she called the company's customers and got thousands of dollars in business cancelled?
Amazing that it took the founders 40 years to build a business, then one email from an ignorant and hateful son to him to crash it all down. Hopefully, a better business will rise from this, and that the homophobe has a nice life living in a van down by the river.
