The development of the Mati City airport is expected to boost the tourism industry as well as open more investment opportunities in the province of Davao Oriental.

“It will give us a big boost once it’s operational already. We will open to more investment opportunities specially within that area ng airport. Yung potential of opening routes Cebu-Mati is very big and to other parts connecting Mati. It can be one way also to ease up our Davao International Airport because some of the flights could probably be directed to Mati. Definitely, it’s going to give us a big boost for tourism,” Tan said on Tuesday.

Vice Mayor Glenda Rabat-Gayta said in an interview during the opening of the 15th Cityhood Day of Mati and the 19th Pujada Bay Festival on June 13, 2022, all the heirs, for both the Rocamoras and Rabat , have already signed the documents.
