has revealed that another of its Australian companies has suffered a serious cyberattack compromising the information of up to 20 clients and 1000 employees.
“The company has experienced a cybersecurity incident in which an unauthorised third party may have accessed company data, potentially affecting fewer than 20 clients and 1000 current Dialog employees as well as former employees,” Dialog said in a statement. The attack occurred on September 10, and Dialog shut down its servers as a “preventative measure” before restoring services two business days later. But, last week, it was discovered that a “small sample” of Dialog’s data had been published on the dark web.
The attack will again bring into focus the cybersecurity practices of Singtel and its subsidiaries after the Optus data breach last month.Kelly Bayer Rosmarin
