The women of Pink Hard Hatz Construction are painting the town pink and normalizing women in trades.

CHICAGO --

According to the U.S Bureau of Labor Statistics, women make up just under 11% of construction workers."I was sitting in a meeting. Once again, it was all-male contractors. And I thought about how females can do this," Ivy said."I always have work coming because what I'm finding out is that people, especially women and seniors, want to see a woman. They're tired of being taken advantage of," Ivy said.

Ivy has partnered with Chicago Women in Trades, a nonprofit working to get women involved in various trade careers, and hopes her efforts have a lasting impact on women across the country.

Ok. Let’s see how many bricklayers in pink heats we can get.

smells like a good ole Chicago patronage $cam

Absolutely love this!! Need to normalize women in male dominant fields!! 🙌🙌

laughable

This is where the participation trophy idea has led us.

They can't spell 'hats'. Can they measure properly?

So.... do men paint the town blue? No, they just get the job done!

No they are not. I work in a trade. The HR Dept. has made extraordinary efforts to get women into our field with absolutely no luck at all. Women don’t want those sort of jobs & these 4 women don’t either. They are using the rarity to gain some recognition.

Artificially propping them up in posititions of power over men isn’t a trade.

That's more make-up than I'm used to on a construction crew.

Two of them aren’t wearing hard hats, none of them have their hair tied back, safety glasses on, or class 2 reflective vests. All four would be immediately kicked off the site I’m currently working on.

what a useless company, stick to sandwiches wenches

Good luck ladies . construction is not like applying makeup it's hard work . So what's the name of the company ?

This is fantastic … my dream was to be a welder yet very discouraged by family due to the harsh / sexual treatment towards women.

Why do women want to be in trades?

Pretty sisters

The news media segregates our population more than any racism ever will.

🔥💪🏻

Love it!
