An injured humpback whale just swam over 4,000 kilometres with a broken spine, researchers said.

Business Insider USPassengers in 2009 on a whale watching boat out of Lahaina, Maui, get a close up look at the tail of a humpback whale, Hawaii.Researchers said the marine giant will almost certainly not survive to make a return journey.

Her injury was first noticed on September 7, when a drone off the Canadian coast captured images of her spine twisted in an unnatural"S" leading down to her dorsal fin, BC Whales said.that Moon's injury meant the whale had to swim differently to finish her journey.
