A driver who sped through a reduced speed limit designed to cut pollution levels has narrowly avoided a ban.

An average speed camera caught John Williams doing 76mph through a 50 zone Wrexham Maelor Magistrates Court heard how John Williams, 60, was at the wheel of a Land Rover when he charged through the 50mph zone on the A483 by the Welsh city at 76mph on May 23 last year.
