Hollywood expert Matthew Belloni roasts Lucasfilm’s strategy regarding the Indiana Jones franchise ahead of the Dial of Destiny release date.

Matthew Belloni, an expert on all things Hollywood, roasts Lucasfilm's lack of any real strategy for the the continuation of the Indiana Jones franchise. After Raiders of the Lost Ark introduced Harrison Ford's intrepid archeologist back in 1981, the hero has now appeared in four sequels. Now, Ford is set to bid farewell to the role with the upcoming fifth movie, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, but it's not clear what will become of the franchise following its release.

“That’s not even a franchise. [Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny] is just a one-off cash grab. That’s like, ‘We gotta get Harrison Ford into another one of these things before he croaks.’ There’s not going to be a follow-up to this. Do you think Phoebe Waller-Bridge is going to take the mantle of Harrison Ford in Indiana Jones sequels?

Will Indiana Jones Continue After Dial Of Destiny? On multiple occasions, Ford has suggested that the character of Indiana Jones will die with him. Comments from top executives have been somewhat varied on the matter, but generally suggest that the door is being kept open to continue the franchise without him. Disney CEO Bob Iger, for example, said "We'll see" about what could be next after Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.
