The Nigerian electricity market operators on Tuesday announced plans to review the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry performance in the country.
“This inaugural roundtable event, titled “NESI Privatization & its 10-year milestone: The Journey So Far, Opportunities And Prospects,” is the first of what we hope to be a bi-annual conference event that provides a platform for a robust and comprehensive discussion of the issues and prospects associated with the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry .
He explained that since November 2013 when the final leg of the privatization of the Nigeria power sector was completed, the assets were successfully handed over to private investors by the Federal Government of Nigeria. “The conference is a 3-day event that is expected to bring together representatives, regulators, investors, and experts to diligently examine challenges, and proffer solutions on the various aspects of the value chain – gas, generation, transmission, distribution, metering, finance/liquidity, renewables, as well as explore potential ramifications of the new Electricity Act 2023.
