The Mecca shut its doors in September 2020 after more than 40 years in its Rutherglen home.

Formerly The Vogue cinema, the landmark Main Street building opened in 1936 and was taken over by Odeon shortly after.

The once proud art deco building seated 1750 people at its picture house peak and after being converted into a bingo hall, it was a firm favourite for generations locals until its closure. Now the C-listed building is being sold for offers over £575,000.
