Fiona Bacon remembers fondly of her childhood spent at the East Bridgford cottage

A Nottinghamshire family house has gone on the market following the death of its owners, who lived there for more than six decades. Fiona Bacon, 58, has put her parents' 'lovely family home' up for sale after her mother died in April.

The house, which they 'never dreamed of owning', is now up for sale for £350,000. The cottage comprises two bedrooms and is located next to St Peter's Primary School. Fiona said: "My parents were both born in the village and they both attended the nearby primary school. Fiona fondly remembers her school days and the good relationships her parents had with the teachers during her and her sister's idyllic childhood. She said: "It was incredibly handy for us to go to school. My parents were friends and had good relationships with all of the teachers, and my sister and I were able to play on the playground all the time.
